Monday June 23, 2003: Great Falls, MT -
The day began with a very pleasant walk along
the Missouri River, beginning at a fish hatchery, we viewed a pool of adult
"show" trout. and thousands of others waiting to be planted in other parts
of this river or in other streams. A half-mile stroll took us to an
interpretive center where we saw interesting stage-set-like exhibits of many
events along the route of the Corps of Discovery. Our visit ended with
witnessing a riveting monologue by an actor purporting to be George Shannon,
the youngest member of the expedition, 30 years later.
At Charley Russell's Museum we also
found this excellent recipe.
