Kennewick, WA to The Dalles, Or -- Today we had a guest speaker, Peter Skene Ogden of the Hudson's Bay Company. As we parallelled the Columbia he told us some of his adventures as a fur trader and trapper in the 1820s. This sign on the highay commemorates the trading post he worked out of: ok

On a hilltop across from Biggs, Or sits a replica of Stonehenge, built by Sam Hill as a memorial to fallen soldiers from the area in WWI. His grave is below, overlooking the Columbia River.

On to The Dalles and Lewis & Clark's Rock Fort of Oct. 25-27, 1805

In the evening we viewed the exhibits at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. We also had an excellent dinner. We got a great introduction and a lot of questions answered by Linda Turner.
