The group at fort Pierre, SD in front of the confluence of the Missouri River and the Bad River. this is where L&C first met the Teton Sioux on Sept. 25, 1804. they almost had a fight but the encounter ended happily.

Just like Lewis and Clark did, we call our troops in to get on the bus in time with a horn. Pat & Virginia were the sergeants in charge today. they did a fine job and earned strings of beads.

There is a great rest stop on I-9 with a nice L&C display. some wildlife mentioned by L&C, and Mario with our flag above the Missouri River.


The great Cultural Heritage Center at Pierre, SD and, of course, the Capitol.
